Author & Autobiography Ghostwriter
I became a ghostwriter soon after my own first book NOT NOW, HONEY, I’M WATCHING THE GAME (Simon & Schuster) came out and was featured on ABC’s 20/20, National Public Radio, Redbook, and more than 100 other media forums. My first ghostwriting clients were professionals needing help with their books in religion & spirituality, self improvement, business, politics, health, and popular culture. But more and more, people were turning to me with one major goal: to help them tell their life story. I answered that call by launching Life Is a Book, my professional service for ghostwriting memoirs and autobiographies for women and men of all ages and backgrounds. During the last 20 years in doing this work that I love, I have assisted clients from California to Massachusetts, as well as Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Israel, and Brazil. Every day I am reminded how there may be nothing more powerful than telling our stories and putting them together. As one client told me, “you are like the weaver of a lovely quilt.”
YOUR LIFE IS A BOOK – AND IT’S TIME TO WRITE IT is the title of my guidebook on writing your memoir or autobiography. Here’s what a few readers have said about the lessons and tips that I provide:
- “Kevin Quirk really knows how to motivate a person to write his memoirs! He gives us so many ideas as well as the tools to do it.”
- “Kevin is encouraging and illuminating, and he keeps you focused.”
- “Learning the many techniques Kevin taught will enhance my life story.”
- “Kevin Quirk has a talent for making anyone feel comfortable enough to really produce the stories they want to tell.”
Brace for Impact
Usually, clients contact me to write their stories, but sometimes I see a story that I just have to tell myself. That happened several years ago when Captain Sully Sullenberger issued that calm command to “brace for impact” seconds before his heroic Miracle on the Hudson landing. I wanted to know how all those passengers got out alive, and how this inspiring event changed their lives. So I reached out to 25 survivors and became co-author of BRACE FOR IMPACT: Miracle on the Hudson Survivors Share Their Stories of Near Death and Hope for New Life.
Here’s what Jack Canfield, Co-Creator of the New York Times bestselling Chicken Soup for the Soul® series, said about our book: “Brace for Impact is one of those books that reminds us that life can be made better, by our own awareness and our own choices. Twenty-five people became better people after their ‘Miracle on the Hudson.’ Reading their stories and the positive themes woven throughout this book remind us that we can all become more grateful, have more faith, love more fully, and live lives of meaning.” Renewed interest in our book was recently stirred by the hit movie “Sully” with Tom Hanks.
